Welcome to the Aboyne Academy website

Aboyne Academy provides secondary school education for the communities of mid and upper Deeside. The current school roll is 655 (May 2024.) The school has the largest geographical catchment area of all the schools in Aberdeenshire and has 10 associated Primary Schools.

The school is known for having consistently high attainment levels, a positive ethos and prides itself on having a welcoming atmosphere and strong community spirit.

Our school ethos is underpinned by our 3 core values of Respect, Determination and Compassion. We strive to develop these values through everything that we do.

We are very proud of our powerful partnerships with The Wood Foundation, The Fife Arms Braemar, Glen Tanar Estate, HorseBack UK and Aboyne and Upper Deeside Rotary Club. Working with these partners we have an ambitious plan to transform the way we prepare young people for life beyond school. 

My vision is for a school which is unique, inclusive and sustainable with a focus on excellence and wellbeing.

I believe in open and genuine partnership with parents. The staff team and myself are committed to responding quickly to any queries that you may have.

Navigating through the teenage years can be a challenging time for young people as they develop into the adults they will become. We have a skilled and experienced welfare team who provide a range of support and advice to pupils at all stages of their education.
