The Adventure Syndicate – Match the Miles (posted 24/6/2021)

On Wednesday 23rd June some of our S1/2 pupils joined The Adventure Syndicate team on a section of their Source to Sea – Match the Miles Challenge.  The pupils cycled out to Dinnet to meet the team and biked back to Aboyne with them, where they then helped the team get their pack rafts out for the next section of their trip along the river Dee.  This was a great chance for the pupils to find out how the female adventurers made this trip work by being self sufficient on their bikes and camping out for the week along Deeside.  This challenge has encouraged many pupils to get out this week and think of different ways to go to and from school.  We look forward to seeing if our Aboyne Academy pupils can match their miles by the end of the week!

To find out more about the team go to www.theadventuresyndicate.com

Ride in Peace Adventures weekly cycling sessions for pupils (posted 4/5/2021) –  Chris is also able to provide bike ability sessions to primary schools should anyone wish support with running it this term (Please note there will be a charge with this).  All enquires should go direct to: chris@rideinpeaceadventures.co.uk

By Kids for Kids Challenges
We bring our By Kids for Kids challenge to a close with something a little different. We’ve got a series of fun exercises to complete in a short high intensity workout.
Each exercise should be done for 30 seconds with a 30 second rest between each exercise.
Exercises include:- Frog Jumps, Climbing the Rope, Burpees, Donkey Kicks and Crab Walks
How many of each exercise can you do and can you get through all 5 exercises.
A video giving an example of the exercises in the challenge is available on the Live Life Aberdeenshire YouTube channel or our social media channels

All of our Kids by Kids challenges and many other resources can be found on the Active Schools Education Staff glow tile.
