Technical
The Technical Department is well resourced, and consists of:
Two workshops (Woodwork and Metalwork)
Computer Suite (20 PC’s running Autodesk Inventor 2017, Serif Programs, Office, Yenka)
Two Graphics Classrooms (Drawing Boards and Equipment)
Engineering Classroom (Pnuematics, Electronics, Mechanisms, 3D Printer)
CAD/CAM Suite (3D Printer, Milling Machine, Vinyl Cutter)
We offer a full range of courses designed to cater for the needs and interests of all pupils.
We currently offer:
S1 – Broad General Education (Core)
All S1 pupils will complete four projects throughout the year on a rota basis, each lasting between 8 and 10 weeks. They attend this subject for two periods per week in S1.
Woodwork and Electronics Project
Metalwork Project
Graphics and 3D Modelling Project
Sketching/Drawing Project
Pupils will each cover the same Experiences and Outcomes, and are assessed against the same Benchmarks for each project. However, Teachers will personalise the experience for each class.
S2 – Broad General Education (Core)
All S2 pupils will complete three projects throughout the year on a rota basis. Each unit lasts approximately 12 weeks. Pupils will attend this subject for one period per week in S2.
